A gold-chromed version of the Deluxe-class Battle Begins Optimus Prime, Optimus Prime Gold Version was made available to residents of Japan via a lottery. There were several ways to enter the drawing for him: one could clip out and send in a barcode from a single standard Animated toy (or four EZ Collection barcodes), or send in 5 Sega Transformers trading cards, or cut out and send in the appropriate portion of the characters cards included with Paramount of Japan’s Animated DVDs. The entry period of the drawing was August 1st to September 30th, 2010.

Optimus Prime Gold Version was limited to 1,000 pieces.
