ShinHan Professional Oil Colour is manufactured by carefully selecting the finest pigments from all over the world according to the high standards of ShinHanArt Material’s Color Research Institute for rich, vibrant, and bright colours. Our oil paints are refined optimally for each colour according to the characteristics of the pigment, and a stable colour constitution is attained without errors by applying micro-level data.
Based on years of chemical research, the cobalt and cadmium pigments we use ensure permanent lightfastness that is equivalent to that of inorganic pigments. In environments where there are factors hindering preservation, ShinHan Professional Oil Colour undergoes minimal discoloration and yellowing because it does not interact with bacteria that penetrates the colored surface of finished works.
ShinHan Professional Oil Colour is a rich buttery formula that boasts balanced properties and meets the correct standards for withstanding the diverse work environments in various climates around the world. Even after the tubes have been opened the paints do not undergo any deformation over time, feel the same to the touch and can be mixed precisely on the palette.
The color testing team at ShinHanArt Materials carries out tests by the setting the time period on a standard fadeometer to 150 years. All 109 colors of ShinHan Professional Oil Color are first painted on canvas, after which an amount of light equivalent to what would be received at a single point for 150 years is shined onto the canvas. The colours are also exposed to extreme environments, such as 70% R.H. and 60°C, to examine moisture and heat resistance. Based on the results, reliable data is obtained on the lightfastness of the colours for labeling.
